Peter Woodward, Managing Director, CaPTA Group

Peter is an experienced leader in Australia’s tourism and transport sectors, he is Chair of the CaPTA Group, which is owned by the Woodward family and has operated tours and attractions in the Cairns and Port Douglas region since 1976.   The CaPTA Group comprises of the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary, Cairns Koalas & Creatures, Rainforestation Nature Park, Tropic Wings Cairns Tours & Charters, Wildlife Habitat, ABC Sales & Maintenance and Careers Training Centre.  As Managing Director of Vehicle Dealers International (VDI), the national distributor for Yutong buses in Australia, and Chair of Respax, a tourism software company supporting operators across Australia and Southeast Asia, Peter combines hands-on tourism experience with a strong focus on technology and innovation. He works with operators of all sizes to develop practical solutions and support regional industry growth.  Peter has previously served on the board of Tourism Tropical North Queensland, contributing to broader industry planning and development. He holds degrees in Commerce and Computer Science from the University of Queensland.
