Rainer Knobloch, Co-Founder and Chief Strategy and Operating Officer, NewVolt

Rainer Knobloch Co-Founder & COO/CSO, NewVolt Infrastructure Rainer is Co-Founder and Chief Operating & Strategy Officer of NewVolt Infrastructure, an Australian company building the country's first shared-use, open-access electric truck charging network. NewVolt's mission is to make electric trucks the lowest-cost way to move road freight in Australia. Rainer leads NewVolt's strategic development, operational and network planning, and technology engagement. He is currently delivering Stage 1 of the NewVolt Network — a network of charging hubs across Melbourne, co-funded by a $25.3 million ARENA grant — designed to serve both contracted fleet operators and the broader industry through open access. Rainer brings over 20 years of large-scale technology transformation experience across diverse sectors, from leading McDonald's ANZ 1,100+ restaurant digital overhaul to transformation programmes at SBS, in advertising, and theme-park infrastructure. He applies that operational discipline to one of Australia's most pressing industrial challenges: bridging the established road freight sector with emerging electric vehicle technology, and making the transition commercially viable for operators of all sizes.
