As former Deputy Premier and Treasurer of Queensland, Jackie led significant energy policy reform, including establishing the state’s publicly owned clean energy company, CleanCo, and laying the foundations for ambitious renewable energy and emissions reduction targets. She demonstrated strong consensus-building capability through reforms to Queensland’s mining rehabilitation laws, introducing a financial assurance scheme to guarantee funding for rehabilitation. By bringing together environmental groups, the resources sector and regional communities, she helped deliver world-class reforms that protected jobs, the environment and investment. With more than 30 years’ experience across public policy, government and member-based organisations, Jackie brings valuable leadership to Australia’s clean energy transition.
