James Twiss Chief Executive Officer, Beforepay Group   James Twiss is an experienced banker and a data scientist who works at the intersection of data science, artificial intelligence, and consumer lending. He currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Beforepay Group, a mission-driven digital lender that uses artificial intelligence and automation to deliver safe and affordable short-term loans to customers. Previously, he was the Chief Data Officer at Westpac Group in Australia, as well as the Chief Strategy Officer. Before that, he worked in a variety of roles across banking and financial services after beginning his career as a consultant with McKinsey & Company. James’s expertise covers artificial intelligence, data science, digital experiences, and technology, with a focus on applications in the banking sector. He frequently speaks on topics including next-generation loan decisioning, implementing artificial intelligence in large organizations, data management and governance, and building a data and AI culture. He holds an AB from Harvard University, an MBA from Stanford University, and a Master’s degree in data science from the University of New South Wales. He lives in Sydney, Australia.
