Being a key player of automotive electronics and smart chip in Tsinghua Group, Tongxin Micro was founded in 2001 by the R&D team responsible for the national second-generation ID card chip at the Institute of Microelectronics of Tsinghua University. Tongxin has been actively involved in a number of significant national industrial projects, such as the 2nd-generation ID chip, the e-ticket system for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, dual-interface financial chips with high capacity and security, and automotive-grade MCUs.
