Tamer Talu is a seasoned business leader and former Rio Tinto professional with over 20 years of international experience spanning mining and metals, chemicals (non-commodity minerals), construction, and manufacturing. Recognised for multi-industry growth and strategic leadership, he combines corporate and business development expertise with extensive involvement in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships across mining and downstream sectors. He has served in board and executive roles, led global and regional sales operations, and advanced go-to-market strategies while steering project development. Alongside consultancy mandates focused on deal structuring, transaction closure, and post-deal alignment, he continues to provide strategic and project development support. Talu is also a doctoral researcher and a frequent speaker and moderator at leading international forums. As founder and CEO of HTT NEXUS, a boutique advisory firm operating in Turkey and the United Kingdom, he has overseen its evolution from trading activities to a consultancy-focused model. The practice advises clients on end-to-end M&A execution—from sourcing and due diligence to negotiations and closing—while also facilitating joint ventures and strategic collaborations. With a strong presence in the EMEA region and growing engagements in Central Asia, North America, and Australia, HTT NEXUS operates across five continents. Its portfolio spans a wide range of minerals, including copper, gold, iron and steel, industrial minerals, and critical battery raw materials. Alongside leading HTT NEXUS, Talu provides consultancy services to Rio Tinto Commercial and is pursuing a part-time doctorate on supply chain risks in battery raw materials. An advocate of electrification, urban mining, recycling, and the application of artificial intelligence in mining, he also delivers board-level leadership services. Through his international network, he and HTT NEXUS are actively engaged in major industry gatherings across the EMEA region and beyond.
