Sunil Kumar, Executive Director - Mobility Payments, J.P. Morgan

Sunil is an Executive Director for J.P. Morgan Payments.

In his current role, Sunil is focused on helping develop product solutions and capabilities designed for clients spanning multiple sectors, including the Automotive, Energy and Power, Transportation, and Municipalities sectors. The team focuses on working together with clients to develop scalable solutions and other capabilities within JPM Payments.

Sunil joined JPMorgan in August 2023. Prior to his current role at JPM, Sunil was part of the payments leadership team at Expedia, responsible for Expedia’s Payments platform globally, where he delivered multiple payment experiences for the converged travel platform across Expedia brands (Vrbo, HCOM, and Expedia).

Before joining Expedia, Sunil worked with PayPal, focusing mainly on rolling out industry-specific payment solutions globally across industry verticals, such as iGaming, eSports, Travel, and the Metaverse. In addition, Sunil held various product and engineering roles at STMicroelectronics, delivering embedded electronics solutions across consumer, healthcare, and automotive industries. Early in his career, Sunil worked in consulting roles at Evalueserve and engineering roles at Minda Industries, an automotive supplier to OEMs.

Sunil received his MBA from SDA Bocconi in Milan, Italy, on a merit-based scholarship, where he was selected to attend The Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania on a student exchange program. He holds an Electrical & Communications Engineering degree (with Honors) from the National Institute of Technology (N.I.T) in Kurukshetra, India.

Sunil has worked across various geographies, including Asia, EMEA, and the US. In his spare time, Sunil enjoys traveling and participating in half-marathons and has recently completed his 5th half-marathon.
