David Muyres has been a leader and innovator in the mobility field for years, specializing in product development and finding creative ways to solve challenging mobility problems. He has held operational and executive management roles in the automotive industry across North America, Europe, and Asia, as well as leadership roles in academia, non-profit startups, and a Washington, D.C., consultancy. Muyres served as Vice President of Educational Initiatives at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, the world's leading automotive design school, where he was responsible for developing new strategic programs for the college. He created and led the Art Center‘s Summits, an annual series of events that help identify and inspire sustainable mobility solutions among key stakeholders in the transportation industry. Muyres’ business leadership background includes roles as Chief Commercial Officer and Co-Founder of Streetscope, a startup focused on safety in the emerging mobility industry; experience leading Global Product Innovation, Consumer Research, and Advanced Technology teams at Yanfeng Automotive; and launching the Global Corporate Innovation Center in Milwaukee. His international background features positions as VP of Design and Consumer Research for Europe and VP GM for all Product and Business Development in Japan at Johnson Controls. He also served as Executive Director of Operation Wheels of Freedom, a nonprofit dedicated to honoring veterans and addressing a significant increase in motor vehicle accidents following deployments. He recently co-founded the Mobility Futures Alliance, a non-profit organization focused on improving lives through better transportation. MFA will leverage its extensive design and storytelling experience, along with strong partnerships with diverse transportation experts, to create an exciting new vision for transportation. This vision aims to accelerate change toward more sustainable and accessible forms of transportation. In December 2008, Muyres provided testimony on the future of the automotive industry before Rep. Ed Markey’s House Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming in Washington, DC. Muyres holds six patents and has spoken at numerous design and future mobility conferences worldwide.
