Haraldur has been involved in electronic identity (eID) matters for nearly two decades and has served as CEO of Auðkenni since 2011. Auðkenni is Iceland’s national trust service provider, operating the country’s official eID scheme. Prior to this, Haraldur worked at Iceland’s Ministry of Finance, where he was responsible for developing policies related to the government’s use of ICT and online services, with a particular emphasis on eID and electronic signatures. He has contributed to several expert groups on eID and eSignatures and participated in European Commission co-funded projects, including NOBID and STORK.
