Edlira Martiri, Information Security, Assoc. Professor, DDr., UT

Edlira Martiri is an Associate Professor at the University of Tirana, specializing in Information Security and Applied Informatics. She holds dual doctorates: one in Information Systems from the University of Tirana (UT) and another in Information Security from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). Her research focuses on designing and implementing secure systems, with a particular emphasis on biometric data protection. She has contributed to the development of innovative mechanisms for safeguarding biometric templates. Dr. Martiri has been actively involved in international research projects collaborating with global experts to enhance cybersecurity measures. She serves as the National Contact Point for Albania at the European Association of Biometrics (EAB), facilitating collaboration between Albanian institutions and European biometric research initiatives.Dr. Martiri has also extended her expertise globally, offering consultancy services to numerous companies across the EU and North America. Her work abroad has allowed her to bring international perspectives and best practices back to Albania, further enriching her contributions to cybersecurity in both academia and industry. This extensive consultancy experience has equipped her with deep insights into the unique cybersecurity challenges and needs of diverse markets, enabling her to deliver impactful, tailored solutions. In addition to her academic achievements, Dr. Martiri has made significant contributions to the cybersecurity industry. As a cofounder of Cyber Morfosis, a cybersecurity company focused on enhancing digital privacy and security solutions, she has been at the forefront of initiatives that strengthen Albania's cybersecurity landscape. Her work emphasizes practical applications in cybersecurity, aiming to address real-world challenges faced by businesses and financial institutions. She has also actively engaged in industry events and forums, where she collaborates with key stakeholders to advance cybersecurity awareness and best practices across sectors.
