Sovrin Foundation offers a global public registry for DIDs and a trust anchor for Verifiable Credentials, enabling digital identity management based on principles of Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI).

Blockchain Products/Services Offered: Sovrin's MainNet is a mature production network since 2017, based on Hyperledger decentralized ledger technology (Hyperledger Indy) and managed by the non-profit organization Sovrin Foundation to ensure secure and resilient operations. Sovrin MainNet operates globally and across various jurisdictions. Sovrin aligns with the GDPR and eIDAS 2.0 in the context of electronic ledgers.

All Sovrin code is open standards based and open source, including a comprehensive public value driven governance framework for digital identity ecosystems. As a public readable, permissioned writable network, Sovrin enables ledger Transaction Endorsers to publish DIDs, and Hyperledger AnonCreds objects (Schemas, Credential Definitions, and Revocation Registries).

Sovrin supports the use of did:sov, did:indy, Hyperledger AnonCreds, and other Verifiable Credentials based on the W3C VC Data Model. Sovrin is particularly suited for Hyperledger Aries-based components, but can also be used with any other software that uses DIDs and/or Hyperledger AnonCreds. Sovrin's Transaction Endorsers include national governments, government agencies, banks, financial institutions, technology providers, telecommunications providers, aerospace industry.
