Patrick is the General Manager of Health Safety Environment and Sustainability which includes Road Safety at Transurban. Patrick Murphy has over 25 years’ experience working at across Health, Safety, Environment and Sustainability at senior executive levels for ASX listed companies across the construction, retail, mining, infrastructure and oil and gas industries.  He has also worked for the Queensland Regulator for Workplace Health and Safety. Patrick holds multiple master’s degrees in occupational health safety and environment, business, sustainability and politics. He is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD). He has also lectured and tutored at various Queensland based Universities and served on various industry advisory panels for various universities. Patrick has served as a Director of the Child Accident Prevention Foundation of Australia and as a Director of Kidsafe Qld. He has also been a Director on the Board of the Australian Institute of Health and Safety since 2012 serving as the Deputy Chair for six months before serving as its Chair between 2013-2019. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute. He has served as a Director on the Board of the International Network for Safety & Health Practitioner Organizations (INSHPO) and as a Director of the Safety Governance Foundation. Patrick also served on the Board of Workplace Health and Safety Queensland between 2016-2019. He is currently also the Chair of the Industry Advisory Committee for Safety Sphere.
