David Mugambi Ungu, Manager, Transport Services & Head E-Mobility, Kenya Power and Lighting Company

David is the Head of Transport, Mechanization and E-Mobility at Kenya Power & Lighting Company PLC – the National Power Utility Company in Kenya. He is a Mechanical Engineer with over 15 years’ experience in Fleet and Transportation management and Mechanization of repetitive tasks, and 10 years’ in Electrical Energy Distribution and Retail business.   He is currently playing a key role in the company's transition toward green mobility solutions and the utility’s support to the EV sector in Kenya. Under his leadership, Kenya Power has made significant strides in adopting electric vehicles (EVs) as part of its commitment to environmental sustainability and reducing its carbon footprint. David also heads the utility’s EV industry single-stop contact point responsible for EV players’ connection to the national grid and post-connection liaison issues including power supply quality and reliability.
