Teemu Patala is a Learning Designer & Strategist with over 20 years of experience in online learning design and development. He currently works as the Principal of Airport College International which provides online training for the global aviation sector. Teemu has co-founded 4 EdTech companies and completed hundreds of online learning projects in corporate, academic and government contexts around the world. He has also worked as a university lecturer in Finland focusing on innovation methodology and entrepreneurial skills development. Teemu has conducted extensive development and research work in the field of online learning & development. He has provided consultancy for universities, government agencies and companies in Europe, Middle-East, China and the US in issues of online learning design and development, and strategic planning of learning and development. He has experience from working with educators in particularly challenging educational contexts and circumstances disrupted by conflicts and unanticipated change (such as Palestine). Teemu has contributed to numerous international conferences and forums, contributed to high-level initiatives of the European Commission, and he is an author of over 20 academic papers and articles. He has experience from over 300 projects in applied digital learning design, development and implementation, including pioneer projects that utilize AR and VR for added learner value.
