Originally from Suceava, in the northeastern part of Romania, Olivian (Oly, as he likes to be called) has discovered his passion for working with children soon after graduating from the Faculty of Sociology and Social Assistance with a B.A. in Sociology. The first five years of his career saw him work with children of all ages as a computer lab assistant and theatre manager at the American International School of Bucharest, honing his craft and developing his skills as an educator in an international school environment. Over the following years, he would travel, work as a sound engineer in various contexts (the entertainment industry, corporate events, broadcast TV), grow as an individual and ultimately return to his first love – helping youngsters make sense of the ever-growing, all-encompassing world of technology. A passionate educator, uber-nerd and technology afficionado, he has spent the following 5 years working as an ICT teacher and technology curriculum developer at Verita International School in Bucharest, where his brain-child was born, raised and refined: a relevant, modern, adaptable ICT curriculum for the Primary Years (1-6). His unique approach to curricular design comes from being - first and foremost - a teacher, and co-creating lessons and learning material alongside his students, aged 5 to 11, on the go, in the classroom, as the lessons were being taught. Being, in his own words, "a person who likes the sound of his own voice", you can find him passionately discussing pedagogy, teaching methods, student centered learning and other such topics in the staffroom, on social media or at a conference.
