Sokrat Mkrtchyan is the Founding Director of Zangak Publishing House, an author of school textbooks used in public education, and the creator of the Mathematics-Based Education program. A distinguished figure in the field of education since 1978, he is the founder and director of the Tatev Scientific-Educational Complex and the scientific journal Pedagogical Thought. He is the author of Mathematics textbooks for Grades 1–4 used in the public schools of the Republic of Armenia (in continuous use since 2006), as well as Mathematics 1, Part I and Part II (2011), published in four languages in the Kyrgyz Republic. He currently leads the Mathematics-Based Education program — a thinking-centered educational framework that redefines learning in the age of AI by positioning the learner as the primary agent responsible for their own education.
