John worked as a doctor for 25 years and has been developing and implementing electronic and digital solutions for more than 40 years, ranging from small business systems and devices to statewide electronic medical record rollouts and AI products used internationally. He is passionate about human factors, human-centred design, particularly in large enterprises, and meaningful engagement of clinicians and other healthcare workers in optimising their physical and digital environments, tools, and workflows. He particularly enjoys working with end users to create elegant, practical solutions that improve both user experience and patient outcomes.  He is an advocate for the responsible use of AI in healthcare. John spent 12 years as an Intensive Care Director, followed by 12 years in executive leadership roles across the public and private sectors, including leading digital health in three Australian jurisdictions — NSW, the Northern Territory, and Tasmania. He brings a broad and deeply practical perspective on healthcare delivery, clinical operations, and digital transformation.
