Dr. Sarun Benjanirat is Deputy Director General for Aviation Economic Development at the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT). His work focuses on using integrated aviation data to support evidence-based policy, regulatory oversight, industry planning, and sustainable economic development. He has supported CAAT’s cooperation with Thailand’s Big Data Institute to advance a national integrated aviation data system connecting information from airlines, airports, government agencies, and private-sector stakeholders. This initiative aims to improve data standardisation, secure information management, policy analysis, demand forecasting, risk identification, and long-term planning for Thailand’s aviation sector. Dr. Benjanirat also represents CAAT in high-level international aviation economic cooperation and bilateral air services negotiations. His work links data-driven insights with air connectivity, market development, investment, tourism, industry resilience, and the long-term competitiveness of Thailand’s aviation ecosystem.
