David Brem, Venture Partner, Thayer Investment Partners

David Brem is an investor focused on the intersection of aviation, travel, and emerging technology. He currently serves as a Venture Partner at Thayer Investment Partners (TIP), where he leads the firm’s aviation vertical, working with airlines and industry partners to identify and support technology companies shaping the future of air travel.
Prior to TIP, David worked in early-stage venture capital investing in companies transforming transportation, logistics, and advanced air mobility, and has led sourcing and diligence for early-stage investments across sectors including robotics and consumer technology.
David previously worked in strategy at American Airlines and founded the University of Michigan’s first institutionally recognized aviation organization, bringing together leaders across aerospace, climate technology, and travel innovation.
Earlier in his career, David advised aerospace and aviation organizations on technology modernization across commercial and defense programs. He holds an MBA from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business, a Master’s degree in Applied Intelligence from Georgetown University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from American University.
