Dr. Michael Bernhardt | Vice President Infrastructure German Railway Industry Association Verband der Bahnindustrie in Deutschland (VDB) e.V. Dr. Michael Bernhardt is CEO of Rail Power Systems Germany. In 2015, Dr. Michael Bernhardt was appointed CEO of Rail Power Systems GmbH, the successor company of Balfour Beatty Rail GmbH. Dr. Michael Bernhardt is also responsible for the business units Sales International and Power Supply Systems and benefits from the long-term experience of his pro fessional work experience Prior to joining Balfour Beatty Rail Michael Bernhardt received a doctor’s de gree in physics.

In 1993, he began his career as a consultant with THOST Projektmanagement where he worked on creating and launching project struc tures and management processes for major infrastructure-related projects. In 1999 he moved to Thales and after various stations he was appointed head of projects in the domestic market. He left Thales in 2008 to take over the business section Director Sales and Marketing of Balfour Beatty Rail GmbH.

In 2009 he was also appointed Man aging Director of InoSig GmbH. In 2103 he was appointed CEO fo Balfour Beatty Rail GmbH. Since November 2011, Dr. Michael Bernhardt chairs the Expert Committee In frastructure of the German Railway Industry Association (VDB).
