Dr. Tim Meyer | Research Group Leader

I lead the Pharmaceutical Biotechnology group at the institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology (pharmacology.umg.eu/research/meyer-lab/) and head the automation department at myriamed GmbH (www.myriamed.com). I also serve as Director on the Board of the smartlab society (www.smartlab.network) and the Sila Consortium (www.sila-standard.com). My research focuses on engineered heart muscle models, lab automation, and AI-driven biomedical technologies to advance drug screening and reduce animal testing. I earned my PhD in Biomedicine from the University of Barcelona in 2009, followed by postdoctoral positions at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry and the University Medical Center Göttingen. Earlier, I worked at The Scripps Research Institute, l'Ecole superieure de Biotechnologie de strasbourg, Western Sydney University, and University of Freiburg.
