Dr. Saad Dahlawi is one of the leading environmental figures in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with over 20 years of experience in environmental scientific research, policy development, and academic instruction. He currently serves as the General Director of the Environmental Research and Studies Department at the National Center for Environmental Compliance (NCEC), where he played a pivotal role in establishing the department and identifying priority environmental projects that require scientific solutions.
Throughout his career, Dr. Dahlawi has led numerous strategic initiatives aligned with the Kingdom’s national transformation programs, including the development of environmental monitoring systems and the rehabilitation of degraded areas. He has also fostered scientific partnerships with local universities to promote environmental governance and support sustainable development.
Dr. Dahlawi holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Chemistry from the University of Aberdeen, and a Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of East Anglia, United Kingdom. He is also a Fellow of the British Higher Education Academy (FHEA). As an active researcher, he has published more than 30 peer-reviewed scientific papers in renowned international journals and regularly represents Saudi Arabia at international environmental forums. He also contributes significantly to the formulation of national environmental strategies through his membership in various scientific committees and community organizations.
