I am a proficient professional mechanical engineer with over 10 years of technology management experience in South Africa's freight rail industry. I have grown and excelled in this multidisciplinary field, tackling exciting challenges and executing high-impact projects. I now head up the Brakes Technology department at Transnet Freight Rail.

I am recognised as an expert in railway braking technologies and train design principles, and a trusted source of information, guidance and solutions. I am passionate about developing trainee and junior engineers and technicians through practical experiences and one-on-one engagements to nurture their individual interests and talents.

I enjoy problem solving, developing and leveraging business intelligence, and process optimisation and automation. I aspire to be an effective and inspirational leader and work continuously to develop my skills in mentoring, project management and strategy to run responsive and motivated teams.
