Martin Ayanore, Board Chairman, Ghana Railway Development Authority (GRDA)

Dr Martin Ayanore has over 15 years of experience in public health service and across multiple economic development work portfolios in Ghana. He also has a portfolio of non-profit sector work experiences over a decade in Ghana, Netherlands, Kenya and across other Low-Middle Income Countries (LMIC). He is an accomplished academic with subject expert knowledge in public policy design, formulation and implementation. He has held previous honors as A. William, Austin & Amos Friend Memorial Visiting Professorship in Queen’s University, Kingston Ontario, Canada and visiting scholar, Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Dublin, Ireland. He is a member of several international professional groups and made substantial contributions to the field of global economic development, including the SDGs goal 10 book series under the auspices of the World Sustainable Development Research and Transfer Centre (WSDRTC). As part of this role, he co-authored the SDG goal 10 series titled: “SDG10 - Reduce Inequality Within and Among Countries”. He is a member of several academic and non-academic committee and boards in Ghana, including a council member, Dr Hilla Limann Technical University, Ghana. He holds multiple degrees, diplomas and certificates, with a PhD in Health Economics. He is a full-time academic with the University of Health and Allied sciences, where he teaches and mentors undergraduate and postgraduate students in the School of Public Health. Dr Ayanore’s vision is to provide oversight to ensure the massive revamping of the country railway network and place the country yet on another path of economic growth and prosperity as envisioned by our forebears.
