Michael Youssef is not your typical accountant. A second-generation founder and wealth architect, he leads HY Accounting, a practice that blends compliance, CFO advisory, and wealth strategy; myPath Wealth, an emerging ecosystem built to help SME owners and their families protect, grow, and transfer wealth across generations; and HY Financial Planning, a growing Financial Planning Practice that integrates the work across both HY Accounting and myPath Wealth. Michael is a qualified accountant and registered tax agent, but he’s never worked a day as a “traditional” accountant. When his father passed away, he unexpectedly stepped into the family firm with little direct accounting experience and rebuilt it from the ground up. His mission was simple: create a business that would succeed without him, without impacting quality. That mission was tested when his young son became critically ill, and proven when Michael was able to step away, knowing the firm would keep delivering at a high level. This experience shaped his philosophy: accounting firms must be built on systems, leadership, and resilience, not individual heroics or 60-hour weeks. As Head of Purpose at HY Accounting, myPath Wealth and HY Financial Planning, he has developed proprietary diagnostic tools such as the Defendable Wealth Score and the e-Commerce Profit Pulse, designed to reveal blind spots that compliance alone can’t fix.
