Qian Ruan, Ph.D., is the Senior Vice President of Technical Operations of Arcturus Therapeutics, and a board member at ARCALIS, Japan. Dr. Ruan is responsible for managing the product production of mRNA drug substances, novel lipids, and LNP drugs, as well as managing global tech transfers. Prior to Arcturus, Dr. Ruan worked at Emergent BioSolutions/PaxVax Inc., where she successfully developed, manufactured, and tech transferred oral delivery vectors and injectable virus-like particle products. Dr. Ruan was also the main contributor for multiple Investigational New Drug (IND) and Biological Licensure Application (BLA) submissions. Earlier in her career, she worked at the Baylor College of Medicine developing early phase gene therapy drugs with adenovirus, herpes, and retrovirus platform technology. She has also published multiple articles and was the co-author of the chapter “Purification of Adenovirus” in the book Adenoviral Vectors for Gene Therapy. Dr. Ruan holds a Ph.D. and a Bachelor's degree in Biochemical Engineering from the South China University of Technology.
