Nuvalent

Michelle Motta Dardeno, Vice President, Global PV Excellence, Nuvalent

Michelle Motta Dardeno is a senior biopharmaceutical executive with more than 25 years of experience across global pharmacovigilance, patient safety, compliance, and operations. She currently serves as Vice President, Global Pharmacovigilance Excellence at Nuvalent, where she leads strategies and capabilities that strengthen PV excellence, compliance, operational readiness, and inspection preparedness across the organization.  She is also the Founder and managing Partner of Beacon PV Advisors to support biotech and pharmaceutical companies in building, strengthening, and scaling pharmacovigilance systems that are not only compliant—but inspection-ready, sustainable, and aligned with real-world operations.  Michelle’s career has been defined by building and transforming pharmacovigilance organizations at pivotal moments of growth and change. She has led global safety functions through organizational transformation, increasing regulatory complexity, inspection readiness, and the transition toward commercialization—creating the governance, operating models, and capabilities needed to scale. Her leadership philosophy is grounded in the belief that pharmacovigilance should extend beyond compliance: it should be an influential strategic voice within the organization, bringing patient safety into the decisions that shape drug development and ultimately patient care. Michelle is passionate about leadership and the advancement of women in pharmacovigilance and the life sciences. She believes in creating opportunities for women to lead authentically, take on challenging roles, develop their own leadership voice, and support the next generation of women entering and advancing within the profession. Throughout her career, she has valued mentorship, sponsorship, and the importance of creating space for others to grow and lead. Her commitment to leadership and advocacy extends beyond the biopharmaceutical industry. Since 2013, Michelle was appointed by the Governor to serve on the Statewide Advisory Council for the Massachusetts Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and currently serves as Chair following the unanimous passage of novel legislation reagding the reclassifcation of pediatric hearing aids from cosmetic to medically necessary. In this role, she works with government leaders, legislators, and community organizations to advance accessibility, equity, and meaningful representation for Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals across Massachusetts. Michelle is also the mother of three young adults, currently in University. Her perspective on leadership has been shaped not only by more than two decades in a demanding global industry, but also by balancing career, family, advocacy, and community service. She brings that perspective to her work with a strong belief that successful leadership is measured not simply by what we accomplish, but by the organizations we strengthen, the patients we serve, and the opportunities we create for those who come after us.
