He is an accomplished pharmacovigilance leader with more than 20 years of experience spanning the full product lifecycle, from early clinical development through product sunset. He has held leadership roles across large pharmaceutical organizations and rare-disease biotechnology companies, leading global PV operations, safety-system modernization and complex partner transitions. Baseer is particularly focused on the responsible application of automation, AI and emerging agentic technologies to improve quality, efficiency and decision-making while maintaining human oversight and regulatory compliance. He has also guided teams through regulatory inspections and complex safety challenges.
Moving agentic AI from proof of concept to production in pharmacovigilance requires more than strong technology. It demands redesigned workflows, clear human accountability, trusted data, rigorous validation, and an operating model built for continuous learning. In this practitioner-led session, leaders from Ionis and Cognizant will share perspectives on scaling AI across PV operations while preserving quality, compliance, and inspection readiness. The discussion will explore what should remain human-led, how exceptions and auditability must be designed, and the organizational changes needed to translate promising pilots into measurable, sustainable outcomes.
