Norm holds a BS in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He started out at the laboratory bench, then spent a few years brewing beer before returning to lab work. In 2002 when the company he was working for found out that he’d essentially built a laboratory information management system for research as a side project, it was suggested that he take on a new role as a systems analyst. They sent him to night school to learn how to code. He got his start in PV Systems at Seattle Genetics in 2011. He set up as an independent PV systems consultant in 2016. In 2022 he joined Biogen’s Global Safety and Regulatory Sciences team in an innovation role. He began his current role as Nuvalent’s Director, Safety Database Strategy and Analytics in April of 2024
