ChB, FFPM - Vice President Medical Safety Assessment Therapeutic Area Head, Hematology and Oncology, Patient Safety, Bristol-Myers Squibb Dr. Nina Kola has over 20 years of extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, and has consistently demonstrated her expertise in pharmacovigilance, medical assessment, interpretation of safety data, benefit-risk determination, risk mitigation, regulatory compliance and advancing patient safety initiatives. Dr. Kola’s career is marked by a series roles of increasing responsibility and scope at organizations including Synexus, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals (now Pfizer) , Takeda Global Research & Development Europe, and Amgen. Her diverse experience spans clinical research, medical affairs, and patient safety, underscoring her comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical industry landscape. A graduate of the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom, Dr. Kola holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree. She transitioned to the pharmaceutical industry after eight years of practicing clinical medicine and surgery, bringing a wealth of practical medical knowledge to her roles. Further enhancing her expertise, Dr. Kola completed the University of Wales Post-Graduate Course in Pharmaceutical Medicine and earned a Diploma in Advanced Studies in Pharmaceutical Medicine from the University of Basel, Switzerland. Dr. Kola’s commitment to excellence is further evidenced by her attainment of the Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training in Pharmaceutical Medicine, awarded by the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine, Royal College of Physicians in the United Kingdom. She is also a Fellow of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine, United Kingdom.
