Dr. Eichberg is Director of Strategic Alliances at Merck Research Laboratories, where he oversees collaborations in multiple therapeutic areas and with a variety of partners, including biopharmaceuticals, academic researchers, NGOs, and government agencies. In this role, Dr. Eichberg is involved in the full lifecycle of partnerships following opportunity identification, including deal negotiations, kick-off, pre-clinical, clinical, and manufacturing collaboration management, and maintenance, and close-out. Dr. Eichberg also manages multiple partnerships in health security and global health as an aspect of Merck’s effort to respond to pandemic threats and address infectious disease risks worldwide. His career has involved over 20 years at the interface of in drug development and public policy. Dr. Eichberg received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, and his B.A. from Cornell University.
