Edward Pham, Deputy Director Translational Research, ViRx@Stanford, Instructor in Medicine, Stanford University

Dr. Edward Pham is an instructor in medicine (Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology) at Stanford University School of Medicine. He is also the deputy director for translational research of ViRx@Stanford, the Stanford Biosecurity and Pandemic Preparedness Initiative, which focuses on developing novel antivirals to counter pandemics in a proactive, rather than reactive, fashion. He grew up in Vietnam, completed his undergraduate in Bioengineering at UCLA where he graduated summa cum laude. He received his M.D and Ph.D in Microbiology & Immunology from Stanford University. He has been recognized by many prestigious awards such as the Soros Fellowship for New Americans, Gates Millennium Scholar, Howard Hughes Medical Institute.
