Aleksandra Pastrak M.D Ph.D, Chief Medical Officer, is a medical professional with 23 years of experience in the life sciences industry, developing small molecules and biologic therapeutics for a diverse array of indications. Prior to joining Providence Therapeutics, Dr. Pastrak served as Medical Officer at OPKO Health Inc. Previously, Dr. Pastrak was a founding clinician/scientist of Transition Therapeutics and has served as VP of Clinical Development and Chief Medical Officer.
Dr. Pastrak has extensive expertise in clinical trial design, having been involved in the clinical development of numerous INDs and NDAs targeting a broad array of indications, including growth hormone deficiency, Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes, obesity, multiple sclerosis, bipolar disorder and benign prostatic hyperplasia. As a Medical Officer she was responsible for medical management and safety as well as the primary collaborator with scientists and clinicians.  Dr. Pastrak earned her MD from the School of Medicine at the University of Belgrade and MSc and PhD in Clinical Pharmacology from the University of Toronto.
