Mohammed Marikar, Director, Intelligence & Automation, RBC Wealth Management

Mohammed leads RBC Wealth Management’s global Artificial Intelligence programme, as well as RBC’s Applied A.I. Lab in London. His team works on practical applications of cognitive computing in RBC’s day-to-day business.
 
He started his financial career in 2004 as a trainee with UBS Investment Bank and progressed to become one of its youngest Associate Directors aged 23, and in 2011 moved to UBS’s Wealth Management division as UK Business Development Manager. Mohammed joined RBC Wealth Management in May 2013 as Business Development Manager in the UK, and created the Lab in November 2015.
 
Born in London, Mohammed graduated in Mathematics with Management from Imperial College London and is an Associate of the Royal College of Science. He is also a member of the Society of Artificial Intelligence and Simulation of Behaviour (AISB) and a trustee of The Brokerage Citylink. In his spare time, Mohammed enjoys video gaming in virtual reality and ‘white-hat’ hacking. He has been programming computers since the age of five.
