Amb. Dr. Fabrizio Bozzato is a Senior Research Fellow (tenured) at the Ocean Policy Research Institute of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation (Tokyo), where his work focuses on maritime security, critical undersea infrastructure, ocean governance, and strategic developments across the Indo-Pacific. He also serves as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta to the Federated States of Micronesia and the Republic of Naoero. His diplomatic work focuses on international cooperation, strategic partnerships, and engagement with governments and international organizations worldwide. He holds degrees from the University of Milan and the University of Tasmania, and earned his Ph.D. in Political Science from Tamkang University in Taipei. His academic and professional career has spanned Europe, Australia, Taiwan, and Japan. Amb. Dr. Bozzato has published and spoken extensively on geopolitics, maritime strategy, subsea cable security, and regional security dynamics. He regularly contributes to international conferences and policy dialogues, bringing together perspectives from government, academia, industry, and civil society. At Submarine Networks World 2026, he will moderate a roundtable examining the evolving geopolitical and security challenges affecting the global subsea cable ecosystem.
