Charity Partner

The SubOptic Association has established separate Foundations in the US and UK to advance education and research with respect to the subsea telecommunications industry.
 
The UK Foundation was granted charitable status in 2025.  Its focus is educational, in particular as to the technologies relevant to the deployment and operation of subsea telecommunications cables, and their critical role in delivering Internet services. Aided by financial support from the Association, the UK Foundation has been able to engage with students and to deliver a series of educational WAVE events globally. It is also assisting to develop, with a leading European University, a postgraduate course focused on the subsea telecommunications industry.
 
To assist with the further advancement of its charitable causes, the UK Foundation is preparing to expand both its fundraising activities (reaching out to industry partners, other foundations and philanthropists) and its team of trustees, drawing from relevant industry backgrounds and specializations.
