Dr. Umberto Maria Battisti is a medicinal and radiochemist with over 10 years of experience. From 2018 to 2026, he served as Assistant and then Associate Professor in the Department of Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Copenhagen, focusing on bioorthogonal chemistry for in vivo PET imaging probes. Previously, he was a senior researcher at the University of Gothenburg (Sweden) and Virginia Commonwealth University (USA). He earned his Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Italy), where he also completed three years of postdoctoral research. Dr. Battisti has authored more than 70 peer-reviewed publications and reviews and is a co-inventor on over 10 patents. He is a co-founder of TetraKit Technologies, a spin-out from the University of Copenhagen, and an alumni of the BioInnovation Institute (BII).
