Rinse Klooster, Director Early Antibody Discovery, Merus N.V., Merus B.V.

Dr. Rinse Klooster is the Director of the Early Antibody Discovery team at Merus NV, the Netherlands. In his current role, he is responsible for the generation of all antigen-specific common light chain based Fab panels that form the basis of Merus’ multispecific antibody platform. Several of these Fab arms are now part of full length bispecific antibodies that are currently being tested in different clinical programs. Before joining Merus 10 years ago as Senior Scientist, he worked as a post-doctoral fellow and assistant professor at the department of Human Genetics of the Leiden University Medical Centre (LUMC, The Netherlands) on dissecting the bio-molecular mechanisms behind the IgG4-related auto-immune muscle disease MuSK MG. Rinse was trained in the field of Molecular cell biology and biotechnology at the university of Utrecht, The Netherlands, where he also received his Ph.D. Overall, he has more than 20 years experience in the field of antibodies and display technologies to discover binders for developing novel technologies and therapeutics both in academia and industry.
