Sam Bruni is the Vice President of at Tillys.com. Sam is a 20-year veteran of the tech space, with his last 15 years dedicated to e-commerce. Prior to joining Tilly’s, Sam served as the CEO of TeeFury.com, the largest pure play pop culture tee shirt site online. From 2003-2012, Sam helped take Backcountry.com from a small startup to a multi hundred million dollar pure play e-tailer in the outdoor space. Following the acquisition of backcountry.com in 2007 by Liberty Media, Sam served as the General Manager of Business Unit Operations and Senior Vice President of Customer Experience where he oversaw the continued success and growth of the company. Prior to backcountry.com, from 2000 to 2003, Sam worked with another early stage start-up Ancesty.com (formerly the Generations Network), as its Senior Customer Experience Manager. During his time with Ancestry.com, Sam grew his business unit from 19 employees to over 600, helping make Ancestry.com the second largest online paid subscription company in the United States at the time.
