Resistomap offers comprehensive laboratory services for environmental AMR monitoring, utilising high-throughput gene profiling methods combined with software as a service for data analysis and visualisation. In addition to our standardised laboratory services, we are developing the Resistomap Platform, a biosecurity intelligence tool that provides insights into AMR levels over time and across various locations.
A key feature of the Resistomap Platform is the comparative risk assessment of AMR in water, which generates risk scores based on quantified AMR gene levels, bacterial pathogens, mobile genetic elements, and other environmental pollution markers. This feature aids in assessing the risk of AMR exposure in water, supporting the effective management of health and environmental risks.
The platform also includes the Antibiotic Resistance Gene Index, a standardised metric for comparing the abundance of environmental AMR genes, and the Gene Removal Percentage, which indicates the efficiency of treatment processes. Our ultimate goal is to ensure clean and safe water for the population by informing local authorities on the risk assessment of water resources, thereby contributing to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG3 and SDG6)
