Dr. Bill Chapman was named the London Independent School District superintendent in June 2024 and is completing his 14th year as a superintendent in Texas. He also served as a school administrator in Coldspring, Willis, and Huntsville. Before he became a school administrator, he was a teacher and coach in both Huntsville and Corpus Christi. Dr. Chapman has a B.A. in History from the University of Texas at San Antonio, a Master’s in Educational Administration, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Sam Houston State University. Dr. Chapman has been a member of the Texas Rural Education Association since 2012. For the last eight years, he has been on the Board of Directors and served as TREA President in 2021-2022. He has also been on the Executive Board for the National Rural Education Association for the past four years and is currently serving as the president of NREA. Dr. Chapman was recognized as Superintendent of the Year for Region 13 in 2018 and again by Region 3 in 2024. He also received the Distinguished Library Service Award for School Administrators by the Texas School Library Association in 2017 and was recognized as a Distinguished Educator of the Year by Sam Houston State in 2023. Dr. Chapman and his wife, Deanna, currently reside in Corpus Christi. He is a father and grandfather as well as being an avid sports fan.
