Alex Damato serves as Vice President of Policy for Charter Communications. In this role, Alex is responsible for broadband policy matters, with a particular focus on the implementation of federal policy issues at the state level. He is also responsible for policy efforts in states’ implementation of the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (“BEAD”) Program across Charter’s footprint. In addition, he has responsibility for relevant state filings and advocacy, as well as advising on federal and state regulatory matters and legislation. Prior to joining Charter in 2023, Alex worked at Wilkinson Barker Knauer, LLP as lead policy counsel, where he advised clients on federal wireline, wireless, and space communications policy and strategy. Before that, Alex served in various roles in communications policy in the U.S. House and U.S. Senate, most recently as legislative director for the current ranking member of the U.S. House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Communications & Technology. He received a J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law, and a B.A. in Political Science from Colgate University.
