Originally from Madrid, Spain, Javier studied Mechanical Engineering at Duke University. He was granted his first patent at age 15 and started his work experience at a robotics company in Tokyo, Japan. He later worked at Tesla, reporting directly to the VP of Engineering during the critical 2018 Model 3 production ramp-up phase, as well as in a team developing in-house autonomous vehicles for material conveyance. The experience led him to Uber ATG the following year, bridging the systems & hardware engineering teams responsible for Uber’s self-driving technical artifact framework. Javier then started a collaboration with Uber Elevate designing autonomous pushback vehicles to tow air taxis, revealing a critical technology enabling the Urban Air Mobility market to flourish. Soon thereafter he decided to start Moonware, realizing the potential it has to transform operations in all aviation-related sectors.
