After being the Innovation Director for Iberia Airlines, Ignacio Tovar del Marmol recently became IAG Director of Innovation, managing IAGi Ventures, Accelerator and Lab. Ignacio began his career as an engineer at Airbus before spending nine years at Accenture, focusing on digital business models in the travel and transportation sector. In 2015, he joined Samaipata Ventures as a Principal, playing a key role in launching the firm’s first fund, fundraising and deal management, investing in early-stage, disruptive marketplace/ eCommerce start-ups across Europe. Ignacio holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
