Vicky Maskell is a Communications and Engagement Strategist at Wellcome, with over 15 years experience using communications and engagement as a strategic lever for organisational success. This includes supporting Wellcome to effectively communicate about its work, to ensure it is bringing in the voices of affected communities, and effectively maximising its influence through cultural and creative advocacy. Most recently, Vicky has been focused on the delivery of a comprehensive package of activity to shift global governance mechanisms to effectively tackle antimicrobial resistance (AMR). This includes funding the UN Foundation to deliver the AMR Comms Coalition, a strategic communications coordination mechanism bringing together a wide range of stakeholders to align and coordinate activity on AMR in order to maximise political cut-through at the High Level Meeting on AMR at the UN General Assembly, September 2024. Prior to Wellcome, Vicky has experience working in the UK, Latin America and Sudan in UK Government, UNICEF and other UK domestic not-for-profit organisations on public health, education and welfare isues.
