Quaid Saeed, Chief Executive Officer, Islamabad Healthcare Regulatory Authority

Dr. Quaid Saeed is a public health specialist based in Islamabad, Pakistan.  He has vast technical, managerial, research and implementation experience in several areas of public health including communicable disease management and control, dealing with emergencies and humanitarian crisis situations and management of large-scale disease control programs at national level. He is currently serving as Chief Executive Officer of Islamabad healthcare Regulatory Authority since last two years. This organisation is regulator for all healthcare services in the capital city of Islamabad. Before that from 2015 to 2017 he was looking after HIV/AIDS, Malaria and Tuberculosis programs at national level. From 2001 to 2014, more than 14 years he served in World Health Organization as National Technical Officer looking after HIV/AIDS, blood safety, viral hepatitis and neglected tropical diseases and also providing emergency and humanitarian assistance. He also served internationally in WHO regional office in Cairo looking after Pandemic Influenza preparedness and response in EMRO countries. He also has long experience of more than 10 years in Government health sector with Department of Health KP province first as medical officer in Governor’s house Peshawar from 1989 to 1999 and then as Senior Planning officer in Health Secretariate from 1999 to 2000.
