Nikunj Vyas, Clinical Pharmacy Specialist/Infectious Diseases, Jefferson Health

Nikunj Vyas is a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist/Infectious Diseases and Antimicrobial Stewardship at Jefferson Health – East Region. He received his PharmD from St. John’s University. He completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency at Atlantic Health System in Morristown, NJ and then went on to complete a PGY-2 Pharmacy Residency in infectious diseases at West Virginia University Healthcare. He is a board certified infectious diseases pharmacy specialist. He also serves on the advisory board for the Sepsis Alliance. At Jefferson Health, Nikunj has helped initiate and cultivate Antimicrobial Stewardship Program which he co-chairs with a physician lead. He also serves as a pharmacist lead for Infection Control Committee and he also led numerous multi-discipline initiatives focusing on hospital acquired infections and sepsis care. Through his work in antimicrobial stewardship and rapid diagnostics, he has been recognized by New Jersey Hospital Association, ACCP, IDSA, NJSHP and ASHP. Additionally, Nikunj serves as a preceptor and a mentor for students and PGY-1 Pharmacy Residents at Jefferson Health.  He is well published in antimicrobial stewardship, rapid diagnostics and Gram negative multi-drug resistance organisms and has presented numerous research projects in various national conferences. In his free time, he enjoys watching sports, trying different cuisines and traveling.
