Abbondandolo is a seasoned business leader and public speaker with extensive experience driving growth across MENA, Africa, and APAC.  As General Manager, MENA at Checkout.com, Remo oversees business strategy, operations, and the expansion of Checkout.com’s operations in the region. He spearheaded Checkout.com’s UAE acquiring license application and approval, reinforcing the company’s position as a key player in the MENA payments market. Abbondandolo brings a wealth of experience from the e-commerce sector, having overseen Travelstart’s expansion into the Middle East and contributed to the founding and growth of several leading e-commerce platforms, including The Iconic, Zalora, and Lazada in Australia and Southeast Asia. He holds a dual Master’s in Management of Innovation and New Technology from Bocconi University and Copenhagen Business School and has completed executive programs at institutions including Harvard University.
