After obtaining the academic title in 1995,Deepak started working in the pharmaceutical industry, holding increasingly more responsible positions in the field of development of pharmaceutical products at Wockhardt, Panacea Biotec and Ranbaxy. In 2006, he was appointed Head of Formulation Department in the Greek branch of Genepharm, where he was soon promoted to the position of Vice-President for Research and Development. In 2012, he started working at a Dutch company, Synthon, where he was a Vice-President for Global Research and Development and then was promoted to the position of Chief Scientific Officer in generic drugs line, reporting directly to the CEO and members of the Management Board responsible for generic line of business. In 2015, he joined Polpharmа where, as a Vice-chairman of the Management Board for Global Research and Development, he is responsible for the operations of the entire Group in the field of R&D. R&D team of about 500 people report to Deepak a majority of them are Ph.D., MBA or Master degree holders. He has about 36 international patent applications as of today, some more in pipeline. His Key areas of research interest is in New drug delivery systems (NDDS) including Nanotechnology, Self-microemulsifying drug delivery systems, Depot injections, oral prolonged/extended release, ionic and physical complexation. taste masking technologies
