Paolo Carbone, Head of Public Transport Capital Programmes, Transport Infrastructure Ireland

Since 2001 Paolo has been associated capital projects in Ireland including the very successful Luas LRT in Dublin.
With a background in railway engineering previously he has been involved in a number of very successful schemes in Italy, Hungary and Austria in various roles as constructor, consultant and client.
At present he leads the Public Transport Capital Programmes section within Transport Infrastructure Ireland with responsibility for Luas, Metro and public transport projects and a remit that encompasses project management, design and engineering across the entire scope.
A Chartered Engineer, he chairs a number of working group in international associations and contributes also to postgraduate Masters courses in University College Dublin as visiting lecturer.

Global Project Roundtables

At each round table, the project leader will talk for 5 minutes, following the format as below
  • Project introduction, highlighting particular challenges specific to that project
  • Project progress, emphasising supplier and partner relations
  • Project summary – what would we do differently if we tackled this project again?
The table will then move on to discussion for 25 minutes.
There will then be one rotation, giving participants the opportunity to have joined two round tables in total
